Graphics aren’t close to being plateaued

Ps2 was the last era where the leap was significant from the jump

games cost way more money and take way longer to make than they did back then

What does gameplay innovation means tho??? what does that specifically entail???:jbhmm:
Enriching the gameplay rather than graphics. Starting with smarter (more dynamic) AI, deeper implementation of the environment into gameplay. We've had games with destructible environments as far back as PS2, why are we almost three generations further and most games still feature unbreakable environments? Use your processing power on that instead of making nicer textures for your unbreakable house.

Nikkas will be mad when games take 5 years to complete like the big animated films from Pixar and the other big companies. Imagine getting just one game in a series per generation so it can look as real as possible.

If you don't see the big deal about Ray Tracing, you should do some reading. This is the real jump from the PS3/360 era.

The best jump I saw ever in a game was NBA 2K13 to NBA 2K14, that LeBron trailer is still one of the best.

:ld: Don't really see a difference on 2k.

I did feel like this with ps4 until I played that 2k on ps3 though.

Most titles at the beginning of a launch always have that cross gen look... usually last gen with higher resolution and a few better effects. The main effect this time are those ray traced reflections. It takes time to really take advantage of these new machines
