There's nothing to understand or respect about it. Gucci wasn't the hottest in '09 simply put. You had artists who were big deals without features, artists who had 2-3 artists on their own labels buzzing, artists that were killing the streets and the charts, and their collaborations with established Pop stars were mere footnotes
everything you said applies to gucci mane. Like i said i didn't even like the nikka, the buzz was just so undeniable that it made me a fan. If you were banging prom queen and that trash ass song with eminem, that's cool. But don't try to act like gucci wasn't that nikka breh. Wayne peaked in 08.

Nothing I said applies to Gucci. Where's Gucci's Drake? In fact, Nicki Minaj was with Gucci before she was with Young Money, but her career didn't take off until she started reppin' Young Money. You're going to tell me that Waka Flocka and OJ Da Juiceman were bigger than Drake in '09? Lil' Wayne had a song with Madonna, but he had far bigger songs on his own the same year. Gucci's appearance on Mariah's "Obsession" is the biggest song he's been a part of.

You're in here acting like "Prom Queen" and "Drop The World" is the only thing Wayne put out in '09. Wayne peaking in '08 doesn't mean that he wasn't still running '09 and I've never been a fan of Wayne.

You have no clue what you're talking about. Wayne's biggest songs in 09 were features. Prom queen was his biggest solo, which is why i keep bringing it up. Did i day waka and oj were bigger than Drake and nikki? Gucci got minaj buzzing but she was with young money the whole time. And wayne ain't even have shyt to do with drake buzzing, nikka signed him after the fact.

Wayne did have solo records and a mixtape that had nothing to do with that Rebirth project.

Drake was also signed which is why people reger to him as a plant. Wayne was on his mixtape.

young jeezy in 2005 is the pinnacle of Atlanta rap. why do yall always try to write him out the history books?

hotter than TI in 06 & current future.

I vividly remember Outkast having a diamond album and winning album of the year at the Grammys and having every soccer mom in America singing along to Andre's gay pop shyt.

that wasn't a hip-hop smash.

soccer moms aren't hip-hop.

youre right about that gay pop chit tho. lol @ fakkits on here getting offended by that comment.

50 and ye?

these dudes were not messin wit jeezy.

50 dropped that weedplate massacre album.

Kanye was always a bigger star outside of hip-hop than in it. stop blurring the lines.

:ehh:well damn... I guess living in the south skewed my views a little

your vision isn't skewed.

it sold a lot but it was weedplate status once people heard it.
