Help your boy find employment, I been here for almost 4 months now and still haven't found a job. The problem is, I don't have a network up here. I have experience in operations and administration with a Bachelors is Business. I need someone to put me on. This applying to jobs on the internet strategy has been fruitless.

I only have one family member up here. I have a few homeboys, but they do music. I've actually sold a few beats since I've been up here, but that's more of a hobby than a profession. I have a few recruiters that I'm in contact with, but you know how it is with recruiters. The crazy thing is, I have gotten calls for 3-4 job opportunities in Florida since I relocated:why: A bank wanted to interview me for an anti money laundering specialist position, and someone called me about a job for a compensations analyst. I forget the other two.

2 weeks ago, I was supposed to have an interview with Bank of America on Peachtree downtown for some clerical job. But I never got my chance, they interviewed the first person and hired them. I never even got to interview:mjcry:

On Monday, I got an email from Porsche HR telling me that they were considering me for a job I applied for. They asked me to email them with my availability so they could set up a phone interview, and I haven't heard anything from them since

I always read this stat that 80% of jobs are not advertised, and I know it's a lot of Atlanta people who frequent this site, so I just trying to attack this job hunt from another angle. My desire would be to get into the quality assurance/ analyst field, I'm even open to some entry level positions.

Have you looked on the Georgia Department of Labor website?

Yes, and even applied for a few jobs off of there. That's the point of this whole thread though, I've only been applying to jobs off the internet and it doesn't seem to be working too well. I know a lot of the times it can take a while to hear anything back, but I haven't even landed an interview yet. I'm trying to see if I can get more efficient leads by asking on The Coli.

Apply to State Farm, they're hiring any and everybody. I know some folks that got hired over the phone, no face to face interview.

connect with your alumni network

look for any job in the meantime until you find the one you want

keep a positive mind

hate to say it, but go to church and infiltrate those network circles as well

Bruh....I applied for a position at Porsche too.....

....I ain't hear nothing from it either :mjcry:

The thing is, I heard something for an office position I applied to. The lady from HR emailed me and said she wanted to talk to me to further discuss my background, basically a phone interview. She told me to email her with my availability so we can speak. I emailed her, and haven't heard anything since:dahell: This was only on Monday, so I guess they could still contact me. But, it's pretty odd that our correspondence just stopped. I might give it until this upcoming Monday and call, because she left the HR number.

I got a direct contact to HR though if you want it. I got an email address, name, and a phone number. Don't tell them where you got it from though:sas1:

If it was only Monday so they'll prolly still hit you. My resume doesn't reflect any business background so I know that's prolly why they passed on me.
