It’s not about the snow down there, it’s the ice and topography. I remember last time people in Chicago were clowning down there because of the low snow fall when I was telling them it’s about the ice and lack of snow truck infrastructure that southern states have. The higher humidity levels mean they get more ice than up here when temps fall. Also all the hills and elevation change makes it impossible in certain places to move with that ice. The Midwest and Northeast states are most flat plains so that isn’t an issue for them. You might not be able to see 5 blocks down any given street in Atlanta because of the elevation changes.
