Atlanta may be one of the most important cities in the South for the financial industry, but that doesn’t mean it’s a great city for people to build wealth.

According to new research from Bankrate.com, metro Atlanta is the No. 4 worst place in the country for building wealth. The best place for people to build their net worth is Houston, Texas.

Bankrate.com said it ranked the largest metros in the United States according to how strong of an environment the metros provide for making and saving money. It included after-tax, savable income; the job market; residents' debt; human capital; access to financial services; and the local housing market.

Yeah this article doesn't make sense. Philly has comparable wages to NY and housing/taxes are way cheaper. You can't gain any wealth in NY paying $3k a month in rent.
