Kelso officer kills man reportedly attacking with walking stick

KELSO — Police say a Kelso patrolman shot and killed a man who attacked two gas-station clerks and the patrolman himself with a walking stick.

The Daily News of Longview reports that the assailant was black.

Kelso Police Chief Andrew Hamilton tells the newspaper that the man attacked the clerks in the Flying K gas station at First Avenue and West Main Street. The suspect had left when an officer responded at 8:01 a.m. Wednesday, but then returned and struck the officer in the head with the walking stick.
The officer shot the man, who was pronounced dead at the scene. Neither his name nor the officer’s was immediately released. Hamilton said the officer is a senior patrolman.

Longview police and the Cowlitz County Sheriff’s Office will investigate the shooting.

.....when I see pics of this walking stick....it better be a huge ass stick with metal thorns on that motherfukker that shoots flames.........R.I.P. to that bruh....not the smartest decision....especially in Kelso....but that shyt wasn't deserved nor was it justified....

The man had a stick...the cop had a gun....shyt dont weigh out bruh....I just seen another thread where a cac was pelted with bean bags instead of being shot....a college cac killed two people and tried to eat the face of one of his victims and he wasnt even shot......Un fukking believable.....

Need to see the video, which being in a store should be available.......I have a feeling, it's going to be a drunk or mentally unstable guy. Which means the cop, probably could have deescalated situation. They don't teach martial arts no more??
