Cops have been great to me, majority of the time I feel served and protected. But I'm rarely in contact with them. I rarely do anything illegal or harmful. My opinion is that some are not mentally equipped to be in an authority position or hold a gun. I have a friend whose lived in different boroughs in NYC (he's a black latino), he couldn't become a cop because of his eye sight. bu based on his beliefs system and viewpoints, I'm glad he's not. He wouldn't serve properly and now he's a FDNY personnel, and even that seems inappropriate to me.


I know for NYC, things will get much better. there's been enough abuse, and the force in both FDNY and NYPD is expected to be a majority of Latino in a few years, with less white dominance. I think that may help a lot. But for those who take the college route, they need to adjust some of the courseload. Psychological test to get into force should be more intense and thorough.
