On the part I bolded. On not wanting to deal with a older s5

Didn't realize it was bolded.

What am I looking at. Or you talking about some type of chain mechanism failure? But I thought I read they fixed it in 2010
pulling the motor for the timing chain service, it's located at the back of the engine.
one of the biggest gripes from the owners of B6 S4's. :damn:

I read that there was always talk of carbon buildup in the 4.2 S5, some getting it worse than the other.
but never actually met anyone that had any problems with it, then again most people I talked to were well under 40k miles and still within their warranty period.
the buildup was supposedly happening above 40k miles. :manny:

the first A5/S5 before the re-design is so much better looking imo. I like the single LED strip headlights as opposed to the current one that runs around the inside of the housing.
even though the aesthetic changes are minor, I prefer the first gen overall.
not to mention that V8 sound... :noah:

the 3.0T's are more tuner friendly over the 4.2 as well. if that's what you're into.

just get a 3-series and call it a day.

Man, I wanted an S5 so badly when they came out, but the constant problems with the clutch/tranny, the carbon buildup, the timing chain issues, plus the fact that they weren't that fast due to the Quattro and the excessive weight killed it for me. That exterior shape, that interior, and that v8 with an aftermarket exhaust, tho...
