Australian troops are getting new assault rifles through a contract with Thales worth nearly $72.9 million.
The rifle is the F90, an enhanced version of the Austeyr F88 in use since the late 1980s and produced by Thales under license from Steyr of Austria. Two versions will be delivered, a standard rifle with a 20-inch barrel and a carbine with a 16-inch barrel.
Thales said deliveries of 30,000 rifles will begin in the next few weeks and will continue over a period of six years....

Basically, they are preparing against Muslim extremists. Looking at how much extremist activities have been going on in Indonesia and surrounding island nations, they should switch to better guns. They are closer to the demonic activity.

For some reason many people I talk to (cops, military, firearm/combat instructors and students) have a hard time taking any bullpup design seriously.

What do they need new guns for? They will be busy cleaning and cooking for Americans and the British at bases in the Middle East. These c*nts never see any action. :youngsabo:

Yeah, I heard that too.
The Steyr AUG and its variants are probably the only good bull-pup rifles out there. All others being trash. They are hard to get a hold of so and expensive if you find one, I'm guessing all the people you talked to were using some other model/brand of bull-pup rifle.

Israel has had success with their Tavor line
You're right, they were involved in Korea and Vietnam.
