Avatars and smileys still showing even though I chagned my preferences

I've been trying to be good and not browes theColi on my work computer But now the gm has made a comment about me looking at my phone

I am trying to set my peferences to work mode: Coli OG blue, hide avatars, sacrifice the smiley's

I did is on the desktop and from my phone and they still show. I logged out and logged back in too. No changes Help meh.
