Awards for Best Games @ GamesCom 2014 Announced

Gamescom has just declared the winners for its Best of Gamescom 2014 Awards. These awards are decided by attendees, meaning they are more of a gauge of what games won the attention of people on the show floor than what’s particularly the best.

Nonetheless, you’ll notice that there were a lot of great games at the show. The event has had record attendance since it opened its doors on Wednesday, providing a fantastic opportunity for both press and consumers to check out the industry’s hottest upcoming titles.

A few of the winners are particularly surprising, to put it lightly. See for yourself:

Evolve seems like a bit of a different take on fps with 4 players grouping up to fight another player who is the monster/boss who gets stronger as he eats and the game progresses. I would imagine depending on what you like in an fps it might get old quick even if the players and teams were switched up fairly often. I might check it out if its on steam and the price is reasonable but I myself am not big on fps. What always really surprises me is the following/popularity that Smash Bros. has. I've only played it a few times and thought it was o.k. but man its really popular.
