Driving home today from work, was driving everything was working fine then my car started feeling sluggish, my check engine light came on. I park my car in front of my house pop the hood. and shyt it looked like the anti freeze coolant is flooding through the water pump... shyt... what's next brehs. I just ordered my replacement water pump from amazon, I might not make it to work tonight. is this hard to fix any temporary fixes that can help me stay afloat until the replacement comes? :lupe:

I don't think anyone here is a qualified technician, breh. Sounds like you've got the night off.

Depends on where the water pump is placed.
If it is driven by only an accessory belt, then it will be somewhat easy to replace. It if is driven by the timing belt, that's the equivalent of a timing belt replacement job.

I replaced mine in my Camry. It is driven by an accessory belt so it was kind of easy to replace. I didn't put enough sealant on somewhere because it kept leaking after I installed a new water pump. I removed it, cleaned off the surfaces and reinstalled it but with more sealant on the edges, kind of messy with the extra sealant but it worked. The leaking went away after the reinstall. $40 for the water pump. $10 for the accessory belt. $4 sealant.

My other car had the water pump attached to the timing belt and there was this whole procedure to lock down the double overhead cams so they didn't move when you took off the timing belt. This is the timing of the cams, so you can't FUBAR that little detail, the belt needs to go on where the cams and crank are in the same exact when you took it off. You can't be off by one tooth. Since the cams are pressing on the valves, there are springs pushing up on the valves so that cams will rotate without resistance. I took my car to a dealer to replace the timing belt and water pump at the same time. $400 parts and labor. :sadbron:
