I replaced mine in my Camry. It is driven by an accessory belt so it was kind of easy to replace. I didn't put enough sealant on somewhere because it kept leaking after I installed a new water pump. I removed it, cleaned off the surfaces and reinstalled it but with more sealant on the edges, kind of messy with the extra sealant but it worked. The leaking went away after the reinstall. $40 for the water pump. $10 for the accessory belt. $4 sealant.

My other car had the water pump attached to the timing belt and there was this whole procedure to lock down the double overhead cams so they didn't move when you took off the timing belt. This is the timing of the cams, so you can't FUBAR that little detail, the belt needs to go on where the cams and crank are in the same exact when you took it off. You can't be off by one tooth. Since the cams are pressing on the valves, there are springs pushing up on the valves so that cams will rotate without resistance. I took my car to a dealer to replace the timing belt and water pump at the same time. $400 parts and labor. :sadbron:

Yeah I'm hoping it's NOT the timing belt water pump I don't have $400 on hand to replace that shyt... :snoop: Uggh i cant wait til i can cop a new car...

Edit I love my charger but it's really showing it's age right now...:snoop:

Driving home today from work, was driving everything was working fine then my car started feeling sluggish, my check engine light came on. I park my car in front of my house pop the hood. and shyt it looked like the anti freeze coolant is flooding through the water pump... shyt... what's next brehs. I just ordered my replacement water pump from amazon, I might not make it to work tonight. is this hard to fix any temporary fixes that can help me stay afloat until the replacement comes? :lupe:

It's very easy if it's part of the belt system.

If it's spins via the timing then you will need to get special tools needed to hold the cam gears in place while you change it.

I've changed the water pump in my g6 with ease.

Dropped a japanese engine into a subaru wrx so I know the process for installing those water pumps.

Dudes really need to start learning atleast a little bit of car experience, it's not that hard if you do the proper research and can end up saving you a ton of money.

Man I'm gonna have to continue to live in cities with good public transportation.

If I ever have to drive regularly (probably when I leave the country) it's gonna be a huge ass learning curve. :francis:

Haven't driven since the driver's license exam. Any quick tips for a nikka with zero car knowledge to get acquainted with the game? :wow:

It's hard because there is zero motivation to get even a hooptie here. There is no parking in my area and insurance is too damn high in this state. Plus when you factor in no fault etc. it's just too much. My monthly metrocard is only $110 a month and I am 5 min walking distance from the train, 35 minutes from Midtown.

To get that experience back up start driving on non busy roads to get back acquainted with that steering wheel. Once you get comfortable you'll be okay
