[This is really for the older heads, cause this is well-known amongst the college crowd, apparently.....]

Essentially, a silent party - also known as a "hush party", a "quiet club" or a "silent disco" - is an event where people dance to music listened to on wireless headphones. Rather than using a speaker system, music is broadcast via a radio transmitter with the signal being picked up by wireless headphone receivers worn by the participants.

The following video gives you a hint of how it goes down, but the breh @CACarot broke it down perfectly:

Yo it changes how you want to party. I did one last year and it honestly is kinda GOATish. The shyt I did had two channels you could switch between. One was current hiphop and the other was old school rnb. The color of your headset let people know what station you was currently on. Green (hiphop) and Blue (RnB). You basically listen to which every channel suits you and if you don't like the current song being played you can switch over. You meet a bytch in the club and she on the blue, you switch over to see what she shaking her ass to and next thing you know yall on the same wave length. You on blue but trying to figure out why everyone in green so hype, you switch over and find out they playing some hot shyt.

Also the key underated part is that you can always pop one ear out of the headphones and actually talk to people in the club if you want. Because its silent you can actually hear your friends if needed or if you really trying to get at a shorty.

Went to a silent party onboard a cruise ship (Caribbean) for my birthday...EASILY the most fun I've had at any club ever.

It's ill how you'll be partyin to the blue channel, then you look up and half the club has the orange channel on instead, so you switch like "oh snap, what they listening to now?!" :dj2:

I would highly, highly recommend it.

Anybody ever partaken?
