I remember seeing this on youtube a while ago. I listened to a couple and it is hilarious to think that these nikkas (who are vets or retired) was actually out here rapping and playing in the NBA. :laff:

Its dope how hip hop in the 90s seemed like it was about having fun. Even NBA nikkas was clowning around not taking themselves too seriously. Now its seems like its all about the money. No soul no mo'.

EDIT: I wonder who had ghost writers and who wrote they own shyt. :youngsabo:

:ahh:

The rap was terrible but i loved this album for the first few weeks after i got it. I believe it was a gift. Rap was fun back then. not everything had to be so uptight and serious.

:snoop:
I am also guilty of supporting Shaq's rap career...i bought all his albums. the production was :whew:for the time...and that track with RZA and Method Man is still one of my favorite 90's tracks.

True...but even the good rappers back then weren't as uptight and serious. BBall's best kept secret was clearly just a one time project. only Shaq had a full rap career (4 albums)...but now you have dudes who are trash that think they are nice and even worse, many don't even try because there is no passion, just a way to get money. Clearly the guys on this album didn't need rap for money so they were doing it out of the love of the music.

The funniest part is I believe Dr. Dre executive produced the project. I remember seeing a pic from a basketball magazine in like 94/95 talking about the album and they had this picture of Kidd, GP, Dana and Cedric with him

Edit: Correction Warren G put it together. But I just remember Dre hanging around in pictures for it. Must have been a release party
