I feel like Metro should be number 2 and Mustard should be number 1 and Sounwave should be third.
Depends on the criteria. Talent wise? Sounwave is def #1

Not to mention Sounwave is also on all the songs Mustard made for Dot.

Top 3 is accurate but tbh there's a huge gap between #1 and the rest of the list :yeshrug:.

Talent wise i’m actually going with Metro for number 1 this year. That man’s beats made me listen to not one but TWO Future albums and I don’t fukk with Future at ALL as an artist.

If we’re going by a mixture of talent, impact, and commercial success then its Mustard for the number 1 spot THIS year. Not Like Us is a behemoth of a song. One thats going down as all time great

1). Rap Song
2). Diss Song
3). Hit Song
4). Summer Song
5). West Coast Anthem

Thats FIVE muthafukking acheivements in ONE fell swoop. Many producers/artist don’t even get two of those in one try let alone FIVE. And thats not even mentioning TV Off being the most quoteable and anthemic song off of GNX. Mustard had the year on absolute lock.

If we’re going talent, Impact, and bodies of work then Sounwave has a great argument, being the co-producer on all the songs on GNX, which in my opinion is the AOTY.

Really all three of them have an argument i’m just going based on THIS year and THIS year only who had the biggest impact and who actually influenced me to listen to an artist I wouldn’t normally.

Legit had zero clue who the fukk sounwave was till now…and of course it’s just the nikka that works in house with Kendrick, which makes him the best producer alive by default :mjlol:

Best producer of the YEAR and he either produced or co-produced ALL of Kendrick’s output this year except Meet The Grahams. So by that logic he’s got

Euphoria (Produced)
6:16 in LA (Co-Produced)
Not Like Us (Co-Produced)
Watch The Party Die (Produced)
GNX (12 songs of co-production)

Thats enough to have an ARGUMENT for hottest producer of the year.

And not just this year. Some of the best songs Bey dropped out these last couple of years are produced by him, and has been the top producer for Kendrick and ScHoolboy Q since 2011. We've always praised how great and super cohesive kendrick albums are...he's pretty much the man behind that work.

You already know I'm gonna give Alchemist that award damn near every year personally but overall when it comes to beats, albums, songs, moments, fukkery etc...it's gotta be Metro.

Salute to Sounwave though. Dude out here producing for Taylor Swift and Beyonce...I would have never imagined that.
