B.O.B IS BACK ON HIS B.S., THINKS SLAVE SHIPS DIDN’T EXIST
::blank stare::
The last time we were talking about B.o.B, he was trying to crowdsource money to send satellites into space to prove his whack-ass theory that the Earth is flat. It is not. But it appears that’s not the only flawed B.o.B philosophy. Apparently, he also believes that slave ships didn’t exist.
Yup.
Earlier this week, fact-denier B.o.B posted a video to Instagram that features some guy rambling about maps. He says that maps, as we’ve come to know them, are entirely wrong.
“When the European came to power, what he did is change up chronology and geography, or the time-space coordinates, to disorientate us. So we don’t know where we at,” the unidentified man says.
The video then cuts to a compass with another man explaining how, actually, “north ain’t south and south ain’t north and east ain’t west and west ain’t east,” or something like that.
Here’s what he posted:
More troubling than the scientifically inaccurate information being spewed in the video is the accompanying caption.
B.o.B. wrote: “They say slavery lasted 400 yrs… America is only 250 yrs old… You ever seen a slave ship ? They can find a billion year old dinosaur bone but can’t find any slave ships. #AseerTheDukeofTiers #apparently #SlaveryIsNotInMyDNA#WeBeenHere ”
There’s so much flawed logic in his thinking, where do we even begin? Let’s start with the most obviously flawed part of his statement: “You ever seen a slave ship?”
There’s a lot of things we haven’t seen, but yet we know they are real. I didn’t see Tupac or Biggie get shot, but I know they are both dead. I didn’t see WWII, but I know it happened. I didn’t see the Civil War, but I also know that happened. That list goes on and on.
Secondly, if B.o.B needs to see a slave ship to know that they were real, he could simply visit Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture the next time he’s in Washington, D.C., where they have one on exhibit. The museum has the São José, a ship that carried 400 slaves from Mozambique that was recently discovered at the bottom of the ocean by researchers.
If B.o.B needs further research, he could also watch any of the following YouTube films or, check out Amistad, a movie about a real-life slave ship that was awarded the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actor in a Motion Picture.
B.o.B, we’re going to need you to do better.
