Baby Boy Gets Ears Pierced - Fair or Foul?

Saw this posted. Y’all think it’s ok for a mother to get her son’s ears pierced when he’s just a baby, or should she wait until he’s old enough to decide if he even wants to be wearing earrings or not in the first place?

Its really not even worth a debate. The boy will never remember the experience and if he chooses he can just not wear earing and the hole will eventually close.

I got my ears pierced at 4. My mother wanted it so it happened like most kids until you get older your mostly a mannequin for your parents lol

I don’t agree with it. I’m not even sure I can eloquently talk about my problem with it, but I just don’t think it’s ok to do. There’s a deep cultural background in giving little girls ear piercings. Boys usually pierce their ears as a counter culture. It almost defeats the purpose to pierce a baby boys ears. Usually though, a parent that will do this will make poor judgements in other facets of that boy’s development

This is pretty normal. And typically if the kid doesnt want to wear earrings the hole will close. Got mine done at 19 though

It’s different piercing a baby girl’s ear, piercing a baby boy’s ear seems pointless.

I wanted earrings since I was like 8 years old. My parents never allowed me to get it though. I think I was 14 or 13 when I said fukk that and pierced my left ear by myself. Didn’t even hurt too bad. My parents didn’t even care that’s what got me tight. I coulda been had my ears pierced but they were tripping. Now that I got it they attitude was
