Ngl I’d rather tank than try to be a 6 seed :hubie:

I was hoping for a JT return but now I'm on the "shut him down for the season" bandwagon. We have a play in team as of right now WITH Tatum. No depth at frontcourt. Embiid on one leg would score 60 on us easily.

The way I’m viewing it, if you’re not Brown/White/Pritchard then this season is basically a tryout for 2026-27

If we do end up making the playoffs it needs to be because one or two of these young players had breakout seasons, not bc we signed stopgap veterans

I'd take a flyer out on Simmons to be a small ball big man. He can still defend, rebound, handle the ball, start a fast break, pass, and get to the rim. He will never be a shooter. I'd try to convince him to shoot free throws like Rick Barry. He got the Nick Anderson yips so he avoids driving cuz he's scared to shoot free throws in pressure situations. This generation is too proud to take advice from career 89% ft shooter Barry though :francis:

Simmons has had 2 back surgeries in the past few years, so maybe he's finally healthy.

So what's the plan with Jaylen for the season brehs

Does he have a hand injury "that will take all year to heal" like the Warriors did with Curry a couple years ago?

I think we'll try to be competitive, but as soon as minor injuries happen, those 1-2 week injuries will turn out to be 1-2 months. It's important for the young guys to play with our vets to get better. When teams with young guys shamelessly tank they develop bad habits and learn to be losers.
