Give him playoff minutes, he deserves it

The thing so glaring in these recent run in the rotation he’s having compared to before is he’s clearly playing with so much more confidence than he previously was

The Maine Celtics are so well run and truly part of the organization. They work with the Boston squad and prepare players to be impactful. It shows when people like Baylor can go and develop in such a quick timeframe.

Sidenote: How do y’all feel about this talk of us being the team to trade for KD this summer?

As great as he is I’m not sure I really want it. Obviously an all time great who’s still playing at a top 10-top 15 level but he’s been miserable on every team he’s played for and lowkey a coach killer

Plus when you consider all we’d have to give up because of these new CBA restrictions, would we even come away with a better team :ld:

Nah, I'm good. You don't make big trades that deplete your roster for 37 year olds

Yeah there’s basically two routes

A - We trade Jaylen straight up

B - Salary dump Pritchard, Hauser & Tillman to get under the 2nd apron then package Jrue & Porzingis for KD

A is obviously a non-starter, but even B I’m not really convinced that makes us a better team overall, especially if Horford retires

100% agree. There's just so many reasons that make it an automatic no

1. KD is just not a factor on defense anymore. KD can still put up 30-35 points with ease. But defensively he's taken a couple steps back. It's like people don't realize why the Suns were bad this season. Having 3 defensive liabilities with Him, Booker, and Beal on the starting lineup are the reason why they are in 10th place in the West

2. Trading away a 27 yr old Jaylen for a 37 yr old KD is just a non-starter

3. The 2nd option of Trading away all the players you mentioned just to get 1 player in KD would have the Celtics with a roster of Jayson, Jaylen, White, KD, and Kornet. In this new CBA, it would make it extremely hard to do the whole "just sign people to a veteran minimum to fill out your roster for a chance to win a title" thing because of the weird rules that can prevent that

Yeah Kornet has done well this season but I want no parts of him as the full time starter. That’s the same mistake we made with Theis, good backup does not always translate to good starter

Not that I Want to do this but JB and some picks could get us 30 year old Giannis. Giannis is the only player in the league that could be available this offseason that I would be willing to make major changes for, Anything is possible after that Luka trade.

To answer the question in your previous post, I don't want 37 year old KD. It'll completely change the entire team and I don't wanna break the core anytime soon.

the league announced a 10% increase to the 2nd apron is now $207 million so getting under it got alot easier, Celtics have $223 Million committed for next season.

Dumping Hauser salary, Walsh & Tillman should get the job done. Or trade Jrue for Cheaper option and they can keep Hauser/Walsh for depth instead.
