are achilles tears painful? Tatum was WRITHING in pain. dame tore his achilles and didn't seem hurt

If you check around, I’ve seen maybe 10% say it was really painful. A lot say it just felt like they couldnt stand on it, but largely painless. I’m hoping a partial tear/strain. Once it’s popped completely, there’s no tension to feel pain usually from what I’ve read. But of course, not always the case.
