Download Brave browser bookmark youtube go to settings, click background play. No ads, plays even when you lock the screen. Coli put me on years ago.

Yeah, you may have to go into brave settings and fool around. They have all kinds of ad blockers and manipulation tactics.

You can also copy the YouTube link and play it in the VLC Player like any MP3 or podcast. The method in the OP works better for live streams though.



and wtf would I pay for something I barely use just to listen to it in the background, which is something that was always free.
