Baltimore Maryland has more homicides right now then ANY city in this country

New York City 28 ( as of January 28th)

Chicago has a population of almost 3 million, Philly has a population of about 1.5 million how then does a city with just over 600 thousand have more homicides already this year then any of the highest crime major cities and yet you never hear or see anything about this in the news?

Why do you think this is the case?

alot of it gets kept under wraps in baltimore. i've seen these people on here sit and act like like the murders in la or detroit are supposed to be very "impressive" when they're in such big areas. baltimore is way smaller and more violent than any other place in the u.s. not named new orleans. all the people who talk all that shiit on here about crime wouldn't last a minute on a baltimore block. i loved that city but i'm glad i got out of it.

I worked in Baltimore for a little while in the school system. You just get the sense that local government is not very efficient. There's Martin O'Malley who it seemed used Baltimore as a springboard to become governor. Then Sheila Dixon came in as mayor and left under a cloud of corruption charges.

I'm not saying what Rahm is doing will work, but the point is I can't imagine Baltimore coming up with a similar initiative unless the rest of the country was doing it first. Just my two cents from my experience. Really I don't have much else to offer but maybe it's a start of a discussion.
