my mothers home is up for foreclosure but I want to sell it, we have a few solid offers on the home, I know that I can file for bankruptcy and this will stop the foreclosure and give me time but my mother lives in another country and cannot return any time soon so is there a way that I can stilll get a bankruptcy filed in her name

who's foreclosing on it?

If you have solid offers why can't you sell it?

bankruptcy is a last resort and since your mother doesn't live in it they'll probably take it anyways

she needs to work things out with her creditors, seek legal advice, or let go

I'd run it in that order

I seriously doubt you can file bankrupcy in her name...you can get a lawyer who can get her signature on a power of attorney and then he/she can represent her...but that would cost too

always a trade off

Never get a bankruptcy, that should NEVER be a option

Get a divorce before you get a bankruptcy
