fukk a bank.

I hold the money I need on a daily/monthly basis (bills, food, gas, hoes, etc) in a credit union account, I stash some money in an online account as an emergency fund, and the rest of my paper is invested in various avenues.

Saving is for suckers I was told. :dame:

Just opened an online checking account with Fidelity as my secondary checking :blessed:

No fees, no minimum balance, and ATM fee reimbursement :ahh:

Bill pay options is decent as well :ehh:

You can also upgrade it to an investment account at any time.

I don't have a debit card attached to it because my spending habits suck, but I have a portion of my direct deposit going there to pay off some of my smaller debts.

The only downside is that it's all online banking; there's no physical "branch" to go to (why is why they offer ATM fee reimbursement), but I never go to the branch for anything anyways. :yeshrug:

This is the only real answer imo.

I signed up for a credit union online. (Digital Credit Union) It costs $5 to become a member. From there, I can use any Credit Union ATM for free (along with 7/11, Dunkin Donuts and a few other spots) and they reimburse me up to $5 a month for any ATM fees from a non-partnered bank.

But yeah, like MJ Truth said, bank accounts aren't really the move for money you don't plan on spending in the next 30 days. All my leftover money at the end of the month gets funneled to my investment accounts. The interest rates banks are offering just aren't worth it.

forgot this was 6 figures forum :dame:

Don't matter breh. I hate banks.

I got a credit union account strictly for emergency fund n monthly funds. I got another account online for anything I'm saving up for. The rest goes into investments.

Those banks, especially the big ones are some crooks. Think about it. We bailed their ass out with billions so they can finesse people just to pay back the money we already lent them. Smh. Fukk them.

for now i'd suggest a credit union account in addition to an online account if you deposit cash often. Fee-free accounts are the norm at credit unions and they'll allow free movement between accounts to an online account like ally.

I'm with a credit union. My parents opened it when I was a toddler I believe, which was incredibly smart because part of your credit score is based off of the age of your accounts. Last time my FICO was checked it was at 719 :obama: (at age 22). I opened a second account with them when I got to college and I might open up a third within the next year or two.
