Slightly inaccurate because Barbados has been independent from the UK since the 60's. What they've done is remove the Queen as a head of state meaning they are now a republic with no attachment to the Monarchy.

I hope the rest of the Commonwealth Caribbean countries follow their lead.

Pardon my ignorance.

Can they boycott or place an embargo like France/Haiti?

I would think that the less that North America is involved, the better as well.

I think this is all ceremonial as Barbados has been an independent country for a while and the monarchy hasn't had any governing power in the country since then. Not that it means anything but the royal family have publicly congratulated Barbados on becoming a republic.

Trinidad & Tobago did this long ago but this is big because England's favorite island was always Barbados.

Interesting

However Barbados is corrupt as fukk so I assume it ain't that big of a win :unimpressed:

Bajans many things but corrupt isn't their hallmark imo. They're insular and can be standoffish but they're one of the better run Caribbean countries, they have the best leader in the Caribbean. They are actually really impressive because they lack of ton resources, flat, and they're 100 miles away from the closest island.
