Home Drums Beats Loud for Bajan Diaspora

The Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. (BTMI) has launched a new podcast called We Gatherin’ 2025: Home Drums. A heartfelt series capturing the voices and journeys of the Barbadian diaspora as they rediscover their homeland.
The podcast is hosted by Barbadian media personality Chrissy D. and talks about identity, culture, and the strong bond that Bajans everywhere still feel with their homeland.
Each episode features interviews with people like artists, athletes, business owners, and community leaders. These are Bajans who either moved away or were born overseas but still feel close to Barbados.

Why It Matters
This podcast is part of We Gatherin’, a national program that invites Bajans home to celebrate their culture and history.
By sharing these stories, Home Drums helps keep Barbadian traditions alive and builds a stronger link between the island and its people abroad.
BTMI’s CEO, Ms. Andrea Franklin, said the podcast gives Bajans around the world a chance to hear real voices and stories that connect them to Barbados.
She hopes each episode reminds people how much the island has shaped generations of Barbadians.
