I’ve been going to my barber for 10+ years, and his proces have tripled.

I pay 65 + tip… and that’s with the “long time customer” discount. Other people are paying 100 for a cut.

it’s kind if crazy tho because the nikka kind of provides bad service from a time management standpoint. . . But every time I try to go somewhere cheaper, my cut is fukked up.

What kind of cut are you getting?

All anyone has to do is get a set of clippers, trimmers, a hand mirror and cut their hair with a #2-3 guard all around. Line it up and you're done. It may not be as stylized like a fade or taper but it's a simple and clean look especially with waves.

Barbers charging more than landscapers :hhh:

Then there’s the goofies who’ve fallen into being shamed into being happily ripped off :mjlol:

A bad haircut isn’t going to be like my house falling apart or my car not working and barbers shouldn’t be charging like skilled mechanics

You Wildin. A bad haircut is not worth the risk.

As a photographer I understand. It’s photographers shooting 3 hours for $400 and it’s photographers who don’t come outside for under 10k.

Who you are as a barber determines how much you can charge.

I pay whatever I have. 30, 50, 60, 80. However I feel. I think average for cuts is like $27+ these days.

I started going to the barbershop before covid and even then prices were rising
I'm curious though how did yall barbers articulate price increases to yall. I actually never had a barber up the price on me before. I usually either moved or switched barbers for non price related issues and had increases that way
Like it has to be some level of push back the way prices have increased the last 5 yrs, all yall consumers just sitting in the waiting area together knowing the price of the brick going up. Can't the loyal clients effectively "unionize" and argue for some price stability? Like nikkas be in black barbershops all weekend, the high ass prices never come up in between arguments about Ja or gender warz?
Then I wonder if barbers give different prices to different people on the low. Whether the barber just scared of certain dudes or like them more/have personal relationship outside the shop, etc
