I kinda agree with both sides tbh, the islanders seem pure, but the other side has some valid points, there needs to be development

I hope they come to a compromise

As someone who lived in the Caribbean, development is usually a code word for selling out the land to rich white developers who will use the investment until it’s exhausted,then move on. All the while getting HUGE tax breaks to do so. Then suddenly you can’t go on the beach for a swim anymore because a rich cac decides the beach is his property and he doesn’t want locals ‘bothering’ his guests.
The government ministers are up to there beck in bribes and you have no means for recourse.

That’s usually how it plays out.

beaches are public property tho.. which island you lived on?
