Social Media owned by right wing oligarchs (Musk, Zuck, Ellisons) and now the Ellisons are taking over traditional media.

It's a wrap for this country (and maybe even this world).
They own all of the major media platforms and will keep the masses in line by a combination of suppressing information and spreading lies.
They can deal with the small number of people who will make the effort to find out what is really going on. They can make you lose your job or put you in prison or deport you if you express any political views that they do not approve of.
My only consolation is that I do not have any children. That decision feels better every minute of every day. I would not want to bring children into this dystopian hell hole we have found ourselves in.
If I was in my 20s or had children, I would find a way to go to another country. Given the circumstances, I am just going to try to ride out this storm and see what happens. It looks really bad.
