They say only fools learn through their own mistakes, and they didnt even learn their own :snoop:

They tried that 'superteam' shyt by signing bunch of big name FAs, failed, regrouped, traded the big names, then won the WS.

this offseason, they signed big name FAs and splashed money around. again.

Rick Porcello :mjlol:
Hanley and Sandoval = :scusthov:

no starting pitching, best pitcher is Miley :scust:
couple it with Big Papi and Napoli having mediocre and bad years, and really...red sox seem to be a giant mess with Betts and Bogaerts the only bright spots.

Yeah the Hanley and Pablo signings are going to result in an astronomical amount of dead money. I don't think even his biggest detractors could have predicted just how bad Hanley would be in LF. It makes no sense to be a better fielding SS then LF. He needs to DH but Papi won't leave even as he struggles.

The team is going to struggle this year and next, but the future is bright in the minors/majors youth.

Betts, Bogaerts, Moncada, Kopech, Anderson Espinoza, J. Guerra, Owens, Johnson, Eddie Rod, Pat Light, Devers....these guys can form a rock solid young core in a few years, and we need to stick to that and stop splashing dollars all over FA for these aging declining guys

That being said I wouldn't mind them going after a Price type in the offseason if we could somehow unload either Hanley or Pablo for something

Padres and White Sox too.Made all those moves last winter to become paper champs and suck when the games are played
I was ready to laugh at the padres too, but I felt bad then :heh: them dudes aint ever won shyt and havent been to offs since 98...so I can at least understand them wanting to buy a trip to deep playoffs despserately

but red sox went over the same shyt just 3 years ago :mjlol:

My Pops Forever RIP
For Boston, too early. Too many divisional games left.

Padres and White Sox though? Laugh all day (Padres had me fooled though. Nobody's gonna wanna go there til the fences get pushed all the way in)

I called that padres shyt too. they tried too hard. their pitching did fall off the cliff tho when it was supposed to be their strength
