That's a good argument, but he's deliberately allowing more hard contact by not looking for the SO as much, which in the long run makes him a worst pitcher. He had the best K rate last season, slightly above Kershaw

do you realize how difficult it is to maintain that type of power/control?we're talking like 1 or 2 pitchers in baseball every year that can maintain that.

It can be a way of pacing yourself. If you're up 5-1 in a game and try to stay around the plate more to get more 1st and 2nd pitch popouts, that preserves a lot of energy. If you try to strike everyone out, you have to expand the plate more and even 1-2-3 innings can be 15 pitches.

yet he's still leading all of MLB in games won, 2nd in WHIP, 5th in strikeouts, and 5th in W/L% all while pitching on a below 500 team. I get it you obviously don't like the dude, but come on

he's not even making big money yet either.

If you're the white sox you can't do that you either get a kings ransom or keep him. If you give him Up for pennies on the dollar you set your franchise back years
