He had 13 double-digit SO games last year, he has none this season. His K/9 was at 11.82 in 2015, it's at 8.73 in 2016... He changed his approach.

he's still top 5 in strikeouts in the AL though :skip:

all power pitchers like Sale eventually have to change up their approach if they want to have a longer career. now there are a few Hall of Fame caliber exceptions (Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Pedro, Roger Clemens)

That's a good argument, but he's deliberately allowing more hard contact by not looking for the SO as much, which in the long run makes him a worst pitcher. He had the best K rate last season, slightly above Kershaw :whew:

do you realize how difficult it is to maintain that type of power/control?:pachaha:we're talking like 1 or 2 pitchers in baseball every year that can maintain that.

He's in the prime of his career at 27, if you can pitch like Kershaw why would you wanna be Verlander

It can be a way of pacing yourself. If you're up 5-1 in a game and try to stay around the plate more to get more 1st and 2nd pitch popouts, that preserves a lot of energy. If you try to strike everyone out, you have to expand the plate more and even 1-2-3 innings can be 15 pitches.

past 10 games he has 5 below average starts, got blown out by ATL (29th vs LHP), CLE (26th vs LHP) and KC... no wonder why he's actin up

so you pitch more innings but you're less efficient, I say let the bullpen deal with the extra innings

yet he's still leading all of MLB in games won, 2nd in WHIP, 5th in strikeouts, and 5th in W/L% all while pitching on a below 500 team. I get it you obviously don't like the dude, but come on :skip:

he's not even making big money yet either.

I thought this was blatantly clear that he was psycho when he went so hard for having a kid stay in the locker room. Dude is not right upstairs.

On some real chit, I don't think it's that...

...he's good, the team ain't, and he ain't making that much money.
I think these stunts he's been pullin' the last coupla years is him trying to fuccery his way into a trade.

I got a weird feeling some team is gonna be able to actually lowball the white sox for him because of the incident and decide a pennant race by handing him to some team

If you're the white sox you can't do that you either get a kings ransom or keep him. If you give him Up for pennies on the dollar you set your franchise back years

Come to the Astros. Throwback jersey night is every night :birdman:

We have the best farm in the league so I know we got the prospects to do a deal. Rumor has it we moved on from the White Sox since they want to much for him or Quintana and we are now on the phone with Tampa.
