If u haven’t listened to 80% of a producer catalog outside of tracks u hear on radio, u can’t say someone is just trash

Thats why i hate when i hear radio DJs try to compare like dr dre and DJ premier and motherfukkers just go straight off the popular songs they heard and not dudes catalogue of music

I was today years old when I heard a DJ Quik being called a trash producer. Even if he isn't your favorite. He is not only a great producer but he had one of the most compelling evolutions and musical journeys of almost any producer.

And Jazze Pha if anything is underrated.

Bruh had to be somebody who wasn’t outside to not funk with them. I’ve heard it before, doe.

That take comes from dudes who only like hard beats. No melody, funk, theory or R&B in their music.

But even with that - that tells me they missed some of the realest rap.
They missed AMG, Suga Free, Hi-C, Prime Too $hort, MC Breed, DFC, Tela, Eightball & MJG…

”Nasty Boy” was a bonafide skip on Life After Death, and Pha made that chit into a smoove li’l lounge classic.
