you are absolutely foolish if you think 13 year old girls belong anywhere on the court/field with 13 year old boys. nikkas were dunking basketballs on my team when I was 13.

sports are divided by sex for a reason. because if they werent, the women would NEVER PLAY. they wouldnt even make the teams.
The majority of 13 year olds aren't like that, taking the exceptionally gifted who are clearly on their way to being stars at the college or pro level doesn't reprsent the majority. These 110 lb 13yr olds can play together. No one is advocating for them to be playing together in high school, but I've seen plenty chicks keep up on the court in elementary and middle school.
what about when caitlyn jenner was 17 and wanted to play on the womens field hockey team? there is no mens field hockey, and she identifies as woman, so they have no choice but to let her play, right?

then that 6'2 mammoth sized bytch starts lighting hoes up left n right all over the field.
wtf are you talking about? My whole premise was up to a certain age range. At 17 there is more than enough differentiation in strength and athleticism to keep males and females apart, there isn't at 10. If 7yr old Caitlyn wanted to play field hockey, go ahead.

You're misinformed. You are in fact taking the "exceptionally gifted" 12 and 13 year old females that can "keep up on the court" with boys, and assuming that represents the majority (or not even majority, just a sizeable number of people). If you ranked the 1000 best 13 year old basketball players in the country right now...that list might have 2 or 3 girls on it.

Boys of all ages are more athletic, have better coordination, and flat out excel at sports more than their female counterparts. If we made all sports co-ed for 14 and under, it would be the absolute decimation of womens sports. Even if an 11 year old girl was good enough to play with the boys...why would the coach waste his time developing her? When he knows in 2 years tons of boys will pass her up physically, and she will no longer be able to compete?

Even in the article the refs pretty much said, "we didnt even realize she was on the team...she just sat on the bench the whole time"

Her area DOES have womens leagues. Her area has co-ed leagues. Her parents opted

My point is that is an example of REAL discrimination that could come back and fukk up womens sports.

The example in this article isnt discrimination at all. The coaches had other tournaments they could have signed up for. They specifically signed their team up for a boys only tournament, and were therefore disqualified. End of story.

No shyt, are you not reading my posts? There are girls who outperform their peers at that age and are bigger and stronger, nothing wrong with them playing against boys. You acting like these teams are becoming 50% female. It's always 1-2. Secondly, who care about top rankings, the majority of kids that age are not too anything, they're just participating in regular rec leagues learning teamwork and exercise, most probably won't play in high school.

Boys of every age are not better, stop. That differentiation does not start until around puberty/pretend. And developing her? Again, you're sitting here thinking of all star athletes, these kids and coaches for the most part are not taking it that serious. there are athletes and programs that are super serious at that age, but it's not the majority

yep they easily could've, at the same time, the premise of needing to be separated at that age is laughable.

it appears as if our disagreement really just stems from the fact that i seem to take youth athletics a bit more seriously than you do.

yeah...if they just wanna "learn teamwork and get some exercise" then of course no one cares if the boys and girls play together. but are we still talking about the article? because thats not the kind of tournament they joined in the article. if thats what they wanted to do, they why not enter a co-ed tournament? shyt, why even enter a tournament to begin with? tournaments are purely for competitive play. they joined a tournament for kids that were serious about playing high level, competitive basketball (for their age).

so yes, i will concede that if its some type of competition where no one cares about the outcome, and the kids dont necessarily expect to progress....then go ahead and abolish same sex sports leagues.

but if its something we think kids are capable of being passionate about, and want to learn and grow and compete at high levels...then it would be most beneficial to keep the sexes separate.

The main issues I have is the coach knew about the rule and got that girls hopes up anyway by putting her on the team. The other is the officials knew she was on the bench, even let her play and score a few. Then as finals approach, they lay down the hammer.

That little girl and the team getting fukked over because of the adults.

I'll admit I didn't read the article, I know there are tourneys for all levels, so yea, if these are lebron James Carmelo chris Paul dudes, it's probably not in the best interest of anyone's time to have a girl on the team, but for the average kids league, it's a non issue.

We also live in a world where everyone wants "equality". I don't have a problem with it, but if she can play on the boys team why can't little Todd, who couldn't make the boys team play on the girls team? :yeshrug:

I think the whole purpose of not letting her is just someone trying too hard to be PC and pretending girls are as athletic, if not more athletic, than boys. I blame Ronda Rousey tbh. Out here talking about Women can do anything men do, and can even be better. :mjlol:

So they took her off the team to be more PC but according to you society considers women more athletic? The fukk?:dwillhuh:

And fukk Ronda Rousey.
