You're misinformed. You are in fact taking the "exceptionally gifted" 12 and 13 year old females that can "keep up on the court" with boys, and assuming that represents the majority (or not even majority, just a sizeable number of people). If you ranked the 1000 best 13 year old basketball players in the country right now...that list might have 2 or 3 girls on it.
No shyt, are you not reading my posts? There are girls who outperform their peers at that age and are bigger and stronger, nothing wrong with them playing against boys. You acting like these teams are becoming 50% female. It's always 1-2. Secondly, who care about top rankings, the majority of kids that age are not too anything, they're just participating in regular rec leagues learning teamwork and exercise, most probably won't play in high school.
Boys of all ages are more athletic, have better coordination, and flat out excel at sports more than their female counterparts. If we made all sports co-ed for 14 and under, it would be the absolute decimation of womens sports. Even if an 11 year old girl was good enough to play with the boys...why would the coach waste his time developing her? When he knows in 2 years tons of boys will pass her up physically, and she will no longer be able to compete?
Boys of every age are not better, stop. That differentiation does not start until around puberty/pretend. And developing her? Again, you're sitting here thinking of all star athletes, these kids and coaches for the most part are not taking it that serious. there are athletes and programs that are super serious at that age, but it's not the majority
Even in the article the refs pretty much said, "we didnt even realize she was on the team...she just sat on the bench the whole time"
Her area DOES have womens leagues. Her area has co-ed leagues. Her parents opted
My point is that is an example of REAL discrimination that could come back and fukk up womens sports.
The example in this article isnt discrimination at all. The coaches had other tournaments they could have signed up for. They specifically signed their team up for a boys only tournament, and were therefore disqualified. End of story.
