never gets old

Co sign :salute:

The documentary was done really well. I like how they interwove an interview of his throughout the documentary and around recent interviews of people who knew him. Baquiat was on another whole wave length. Breh was just so creativity. :ohlawd:

The Forest Where Hope Died
Ya he was hip hop as fukk but I think his artwork is garbage and overrated..

I never understood what the big deal was..looks like something a 12 year old kid could of drawn..I guess since he was friends with Andy Warhol who was overrated also and they lived in soho, that people thought he was great..:manny:

Downloaded it after hearing about it on the Combat Jack Show. Haven't watches yet. I remember back in the day I used to see the trailer for the Basquiat movie and I never knew who he was or what it was really about.

Yeah, the movie is really good too. I haven't watched it in a while. Jeffery Wright did an outstanding job in the movie playing Basquiat.

Basquiat was not only Hip Hop....But he was a bridge between Hip Hop and the mainstream world in an era when Hip Hop was secluded to being refered to as an "urban market fad.".....we wouldnt see another bridge of such capacity until Will Smiths career took off in the 90'.

I suggest everyone who considers themselves Hip Hop to watch the documentary posted.

Am I the only one who never really caught the Basquiat craze?

His story was cool (black kid being basically being professionally adopted by Warhol and early death) but other than that his art was

I did like his early 'SAMO' tags though, Same ol' shyt is genius :whew:
