Do you hear anyone when you play? I play every night and I have not heard one person. It's weird

I hear 'em from time to time, but this era has alot of folk either sticking to party chat or not springing for a mic compared to the 360 era, so even when I'm by myself, chances are I'll hardly hear anyone nowadays. Plus the fact that you can only hear the folk in your squad as opposed to your entire team lessens the opportunity to interact with folks who mic'd up when you forming up.

I met/made like one friend during like 130 + hours of Battlefield1 compared to the dozens I made during the 360 era on COD and that shyt is a bit surprising since back then you needed an actual PC headset if you ain't had turtle beaches/Etc. In this era of the headphone jack and phone mic cord more people should be audible since these things are already part of alot of folks daily lives...but they ain't. It's a bit weird, but it's whatever.

I haven't talked to any random people on X1/PS4 in years. Usually I have music playing so I can't hear the game sounds anyway

My homegirl and I started a party on COD the other day. We muted everyone else and just called each other on speakerphone. :skip:

Most people do parties, but if you're looking for a crew, there are a few on this site, myself included.

But the quickest easiest way is to go to clubs, ppl ready to squad up 24/7

:duck:
That started during the 360 era when they came out with party chat. XBL on the original Xbox was the GOAT because you actually had players talking to each other in in-game chat. Online gaming hasn't been the same since Microsoft came out with party chat.

That's why I always say PSN>XBL during 360 and PS3 gen.

I don't even know what to say to this shyt 'cause I'm honestly afraid of jumping into a Sony/Microsoft war since y'all got throbbing boners for this shyt but ANYBODY who used XBL during the 360 Era saw Party chat as a GODSEND, 'cause now you could squad up with your boys and not ever have to hear folk you didn't want to hear WHILE communicating.....as you know, a team?:sas1:

The PSN ain't had that shyt back then if I'm not mistaken and any breh in here defending having to talk over folk while trying to communicate with your squad in party chat, having to mute them again every time the match restarted then....I don't know what to tell you.

Party chat was a step in the right direction in terms of online communication regardless of what console came out with it first. I ain't a stan so I ain't gonna tout this as a plus in the XBL vs PSN era back during ps3 and Xbox 360 but......come on, y'all getting silly with this shyt now.:snoop:

no offense but i really wish players like you never made their way to online gaming.

You could always squad up with your boys prior to the existence of party chat, or was getting in the same in-game lobby too difficult, that they have dumb it down for you? If you don't want hear other folks talking, you could just mute them. And if you couldn't handle trash talking, little kids being kids online, the trolls, etc then log off and play single player or something.:camby: You gotta be a straight p*ssy in real life if you cant handle that shyt. I don't think i ever had to mute anyone ever
This aint about Xbox vs PlayStation, I was there when Mech-Assault and XBL launched, and i was:ohlawd: when i first heard another voice from the mic. This was before matchmaking and we had server browser in Rainbow Six 3 where you get booted if you didn't have a mic or if you were being awkwardly quiet. Trash talking in Halo 2 with the proximity talk :lawd:.:umad: while you tea bag their dead body while they're stuck in the re-spawn screen. This was the golden age of XBL before Party chat. XBL used to be like a social party where you get to meet random peeps, now everyone just stick to their real life circle in their private party chat. If you weren't there in beginning you wouldn't understand.

1st bolded - I never said I DIDN'T go into game chat:aicmon:, I said that there aren't as much folk in THIS gen in Game chat as there was in the 360 era. The majority of COD friends I've made I met playing with and talking shyt in Gamechat, breh. Me and @Mowgli got posts on here of our shyt talking to idiots/racists in Gamechat and I don't mute folk unless they got loud ass arguments in the background or just playing music incessantly. You assumed because I was defending party chat that I lived in it, which is further from the truth, 'cause around the 360 era where folk normally had mics, We stayed in gamechat 'cause people back then called out enemies and tried to coordinate strategies'n'shyt. Made a solid chunk of friends through that.

2nd bolded - Ever since I got a chance to play Socom on ps with a headset I got from someone who bought it thinking it would enhance their Manhunt 1 experience :pachaha: and started talking with folk, doing all that tactical shyt late at night in the dark with my headset on, I was hooked. That's why I love the sort of tactical element you can facilitate in Ghost Recon Wildlands since it harkens back to them days of sitting for a minute and planning out a route/marking targets. I forgot which COD did it first where you'd hear a 2 second snippet of whatever the person said into the mic during that quick window and that shyt used to have us rolling 'cause you'd hear all the tryhard and rage quitters briefly. Plus it was fun talking quick shyt to a friend that came in late and got put on the other team.

I'm far from some anti-social pariah that just jumps into party chat with his friends and operates within his own little clique away from the general consensus of the team, especially if it got dudes in there with mic talking shyt or helping and what's not, but it ain't there this Gen, atleast on the X1 side. I've talked to a few dudes in BF1 in conquest and whenever I'm flying a plane I always go to gamechat so I can let any Tailgunners know when to bail since I hate when that shyt happens to me.:yeshrug:
