Bay Area Brehs : Do You Consider Messy Marv A Legend?

Im making this thread as an effort to possibly get an understanding of this whole debate. With the recent arrest of Messy Marv In Rockwell, Texas on coke possession . This particular subject has been thrown around on various sites pertaining to west coast music i.e. Siccness.net, dubcc.com ( @ them still being on vbulletin in 2015) and a couple of others. Reading comments from those threads its almost a 50% are agreement he is and another 50% are in agreement that he isnt a legend, but has periodically drop the baton.


One thing in my own opinion, is that he do have classic such as Say Luv..








Bay Area & A-Alikes weigh in: If he is why not? and if he is what exactly made him a "legend".

I mean yeah he's a legendary rapper, he was involved with Explosive Mode, which is a landmark album, and he's just been a factor out here in the rap game for the longest.

However, it must be said that in addition, he is a legendary wackjob, cokehead, fake-flagger, and all-around weirdo. Doesn't take away from his music IMO, in fact, I think it just adds to his appeal, his shadiness off record is often hilarious.

I be tryna explain that shyt to my family back in the bay whos younger and don't like Mess for whatever stupid reason they got...Its hard to explain but all the bullshyt Mess pulls,he manages to pull that shyt off where you just like "Mess gon Mess"....The Game has always managed to do the same for himself over his career but not on Mess level...Ive seen nikkas careers destroyed,fanbases vanish off a fraction of the shyt Mess done did or said...or maybe it aint hard to explain and I was just a Messy Marv stan for a long time and just give em a pass for all the bullshyt

plus his discography is so varied, it's like for every great song he's got out, there's 20 sub par ones.
