Im going on 34 and I'm not really trying to go the ol' go back to college route. I'm tired of working OK paying 9-5's.
They make great $ and seem to always be working.

I feel you bruh. I went through this same kind of frustration in my late teens/early 20’s.

Employers ain’t tryna foot the bill on formal job training like that anymore...yet complain there aren’t enough young qualified individuals to fill the jobs that these baby boomers(who got training lol) are retiring from.

I was just at my lil job center place and seen a flyer for citybuild here is San Francisco off mission. Had a list full of certification courses n shyt. I'm like fukk I'll go n knock some of these out. Hella light shyt like forklift shyt hella other stuff. It doesn't hurt to be certified out chea and it's free.

I was in their construction program and dropped out. SMH
That shyt was legit and it was free too. I just wanted a full time job more a MF was broke.

Check out citybuild in San Francisco y'all if you want job training and certifications. It's up and across the street from Bart on 16th and mission.

O ya I meant to say they had roofing as one of the certifications. That's what I'm gonna go talk to them about. I think they get paid doe.

most of the pg&e jobs go to white people, so if you don't have any white friends in the field or connects it ain't going to happen...

Yea, but w/ construction you don't work thru the whole year guaranteed. Like on days where the weather is like what we just had yesterday and the day before you wouldn't be working. Had a friend who used to do that shyt, and he'd be off for like a week sometimes. Nowasays you may fare out better since we haven't been getting much rain lately, but yeah

my cousin left consruction because nephewtism is big in consruction with Mexicans, alot relative hires and blacks never got promoted even if you better and had years more exprience
