Could Art Briles return to the sideline as Baylor head coach?

According to a report from HornsDigest.com’s Chip Brown, the school’s board of regents will “consider a one-year suspension” for Briles when it meets on Monday. Bleacher Report’s Jason King and KWTX also reported the news.

According to Brown, the push to vote for Briles’ return in 2017 is “being driven by some of the biggest big-money donors at the school – many of whom helped fund BU’s $300 million football stadium that opened in 2014.” Briles is said to have met with “some key figures associated with the school last Thursday.”

Reports: Some on Baylor board want to bring back Art Briles (Update)

After a year of losing 8 games that will change that perception real quick

:ohhh:
And after all those players de-committing and wanting to rescind their LOIs. They thought players like Baylor because of Baylor. :mjlol:

They know they're going to go back to being bottom dwellers after spending $300M on a college stadium.

if the majority of the lady bears don't care, why should i?

if they want to see change, then the women of baylor have to take a monumental stand against the university. they have a world class law program....ladies, stop applying, if you're there now, seek to transfer out--and site their placing football prominence over the safety of it's own female student body. i'm not crunching the numbers, but i'd venture to say they need the women sports just as much as they need men sports (excluding football). just three or four years ago, their lady basketball team won a NC with ol' boy brittney griner. y'all want to see some s**t pop off....it has to implode from the inside.

LOL especially when they spent most of their lives being irrelevant in the state football wise. It's like the first time I went to a game in a box suite with food and drinks and all that. I was like "I can't go back to sitting back in regular seats... I can't. I won't"

Looks like it's not gonna happen according to Baylor247:
Bearstruth learned that a potential re-vote on the future of Art Briles is not likely to happen. The Board of Regents at Baylor is expected to discuss whether to allow Art Briles another opportunity to address the board but a source close to the situation said that they did not expect that Art would be provided that option. Specific dollar figures are expected to be discussed to buyout the remainder of Art Briles' contract. Those figures range between $5 million on the low end to $28 million.

Art Briles may choose to fight the offered buyout but that would lead to disclosure over the details of the firing which both parties probably want to avoid. This will close the chapter on the Art Briles' era. Briles was 65-37 at Baylor including a 32-7 record over the last 3 years. Baylor will likely hire their next President soon. Elizabeth Davis is rumored to be the favorite. They are also expected to hire an Athletic Director in the next month. After those two hires, the school will turn its attention to finding a permanent solution at head football coach. Sources told Bearstruth that the rumors of large donors pulling contributions from Baylor University over the firing of Art Briles was not accurate. Baylor should have the ability to pay a head coach top dollar in the market.

:mjlol: They delusional thinking their gonna get a top Head Coach.
