The DNA has no accuracy? I need you to clarify that statement before I respond to it. There maybe be a margin of error but to say it has no accuracy I don't think that is accurate.
And a line has to be drawn somewhere. To be a "Native American" legally (depending on the tribe) you need a certain amount of DNA and/or you need to be able to trace your ancestry to the scrolls ( I can't remember their proper name). If you wanna include everyone with even the slightest bit of Black our population will double over night and any real benefit will be watered down and useless. Not everyone can get a piece of the pie.![]()
Dawes Rolls. Which themselves are false because white indians you see today are the ancestors of people of paid 5 dollars to name themselves indians. When the majority of the indians were black at the time, blacks were basically intimidated out of their land rights.
Cadavers usually are given race based on a physical examination of the skeletal, not DNA fully. DNA confirms parents, male, female, unique individual identities etc but when it comes to actual race percentages its usually only capable of creating enough evidence to "guess" percentages. The tests they sell on amazon are just marker tests, based on "probablys" not an acutal provable fact. Which is why they don't hold up in a court of law.
25% is usually the percentage where black features become dominant and undeniable. Its also the blood amount where its easily traced to the source of the blackness. Most of us go of of oral history mixed with some on paper history. Old folks back in the day participated in a lot of foolishness such as name changes and changing birth day dates etc. So anyone who has undeniable black features and can tell you which route that they are related to slavery should get benefits.
I for example can trace mine two ways. On my mothers side, through my grand mother. My great great, and great great great grandmothers were slaves. I know the the names of them. Through my grandfather, black indians and slaves intermarried. great great grandmother was born a slave, great great grandfather was a free black indian. Helped great great grandmother escape and she was adopted into black tribe and he married her. Her mother was a slave her entire life and his parents were black indians who were kidnapped into slavery for a short time and escaped, by way of the tribe helping them escape.
