That's like going to the car lot and saying you don't want to know the history of the car, as if choosing to be willfully ignorant of the car's history will make it drive better and be more reliable. People CAN change from their pasts, but then again, a person's history can tell a lot about the habits they have ingrained. You don't assess someone solely on their past, but you always take it into account.
