I’m working remotely for the whole of thanksgiving week .

In our union contract we get triple time when we work holidays.


I work Thanksgiving morning every year (I'm not doing shyt from 7am-3pm anyway). Black Friday is also considered a holiday in our union contract.


The week of Thanksgiving I make a ridiculous amount of money just off those two days.

depends on the industry, for most businesses there is absolutely no reason to open on holidays. All your clients and companies you do business with, banks that process your transactions ect are going to be closed anyway. Why have Brian working the mail room when the post office is closed that day anyway?

However, if you work in a restaurant or movie theater or some other recreational shyt people like to do on holidays, then of course you going to be working on thanksgiving and Christmas. That'd be like working as life guard but demanding time off for every spring break. Thats literally the time of the year they need you the most.

I work in the paper industry and we are operational every day except for a scheduled shut down.
