I just bought a couple of drum loops/instrument packs for the first time. Since I've started making beats I've always crafted everything from the drums up by myself (minus samples of course)

Now that I have some of these loops/packs it just seems really easy to make good sounding stuff...I know all the pros do it and I'm not throwing shade :whoa: I'm just saying it feels like I'm doing less work

Do ya'll think its a shortcut to use loops and packs? Or is it just part of the game?

Nothing wrong with using drumpacks.
But loops??? I don't know.

I know a lot of House producers do it. (more than Hip-Hop (excluding drumbreaks))

A lot of hip hop hits was loops found in drum packs. I personally don't like digging through them shyts. But if u do it and strike gold good on you. Usually though producers who get away with that r already establish

Yeah another reason why I asked was because I just learned Hit Boy's nikkas in Paris was just a purchased loops with drums over it and people were giving him shyt over that

I think this is what killin the game right now is someone calling himself a producer but using pre made drum loops and instruments made by someone else . The game is so saturated now that i think folks should at least try to be creative making everything from scratch . Nothing wrong with using sample though . Its harder to make something sound good making everything from scartch but it will pay off at the end of the day . Just my own persepective .

I think it's not wrong to use presets from a synthesizer though.
I mean people who play the piano also have just 1 sound.
Arpeggios are alright to use to i think.
But using pre-made drum loops just ain't me.

Only if the loops, drums, etc sound corny.

Most sound kits are useless from my experience

The kits pulled from actual vinyl are good

You can always chop the loops and make your own arrangements.

No need to sample your own drums IMO.
There's too many good drumkits online

I only make my own kicks and 808s when it comes to drums. I'll use hi hat loops for boom bap or electronic type shyt but that's about it. Don't let nikkas tell you what to do, just do what you like and what sounds good. But good kits are hard to find nowadays. I bought 2 kits a few weeks ago that I ended up deleting because most of the drums I already had in other kits.
