So one of my close homies is doing missionary work in Uganda. It's a completely other world.
It's very poor, financially, there. People make $1 a day as income. They have cell phones and internet access, but no other first world amenities. Children work to make money to help support the family.
They see what's possible through the Internet, but find out it would take multiple years of income to afford a one-way ticket to fly to America.
People pay $4 to $5 for a specialty drink at Starbucks. I rarely do that. Can you imagine spending a week's income on one coffee drink? But, I can afford other nice things and expenses that come my way, like having to replace all four tires on my car all at once.
Peace out.
