youre too focused on sales & mainstream. you gotta be in tune with the streets.
rocafella records became popular when beans blew up, and they were the top label from '01 up until the breakup in '05.
dipset had a deal with rocafella. therefore they were apart of rocafella - their forefront four at least(cam, jones, Juelz, zeeke). just because they didn't have sleepovers at jay's house, it doesn't mean they weren't on rocafella. of course it was a business decision. that's why its called the music business.
youre the one going off of personal opinion's, not me homie. the state property movies are indeed considered hood classics. I'm not even the one that you were arguing with about that initially.and that 50 cent movie bombed bro. he had that old white man from Hollywood direct his flick and it came out lookin phony as f*ck. that chit was not wavey at all.
and g-unit was not poppin in the streets like that for all those years youre listing. they started dwindling when 50 dropped the massacre. that was '05. I could see if you were to say they were crazy popular in 02-04. throw '01 or earlier in there for new York. by '05, they still had their stans but other than that, they were hardcore pop at that point.
Yeah i was goin back & forth with someone else until you decided to @ me, so i dont see what the point was. As if i came at you about this.
Rocafella only put out 1 Dipset group album. 2 Cam'ron solo albums & 2 Santana album. Santana albums never popped like that as far as reception.
Its ironic you telling me about personal opinions when its not a FACT if something is a "hood classic" or not. Some will think it is, other wont. So its just as much your opinion & experience than mine. I base mine on what a CLASSIC is tho. A classic has an impact and puts a dent to the game and something memorable. Belly is a hood classic. State Property? Ehh, i would have to disagree.
And again when i brought up 50 cents movie it had nothing to do with the quality. You brought up business ventures as a way to say how Rocafella had the game on lock. I do the same and all of a sudden it becomes about whether or not YOU (again, personal opinion) liked the movie or not. It was still a big movie with box office hits and a major soundtrack.
And as for music quality, you honestly think Rocafella put out more piff shyt AS A COLLECTIVE than G-Unit between 2003-2005? Again, not a big G-Unit fan but still. Rocafella for damn sure aint ran to no 2005, again thats YOUR personal opinion & view of it. In 2005 when Beans put out his last great album IMO it wasnt even thru Rocafella it was thru Dame's label.
