The Broad Street Bully has seen better days and his path to recovering from a December shooting is still ongoing. It was reported by TMZthat Sigel’s lung was removed after doctors deemed that the organ couldn’t be saved due to bullet fragments lodged in the organ.

However, a source in Sigel’s management has confirmed with XXL exclusively that the Philly MC does indeed have both his lungs. Instead the lung collapsed and was reinflated. Both lungs are intact.

It is believed that Beans was not the intended target of the Pleasantville, New Jersey shooting. He was released from the hospitalyesterday after nearly a month. The shooter is still at-large.

Beanie Sigel is roughly 1.3 pounds lighter ... after having his lung removed.

It was not elective surgery. Doctors just couldn't save the organ because it was riddled with fragments from a bullet someone fired into his stomach last month.

Someone opened fire as the hip-hop mogul returned home from taking his kids to school. It was a drive-by and cops believe Sigel was not the target ... the shooter was gunning for the guy standing next to him.

Sigel was released from the hospital he's called home since December 5. He went directly to Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation in Pomona, NJ, where he'll spend the next 90 days learning how to function with one lung.

As for the shooter ... he's still on the loose.

Rapper Beanie Sigel is in surgery Friday morning following a shooting in Pleasantville where he and another man was injured.

Sigel was shot in the torso and transported to AtlanticCare Regional Medical Center' city campus. Police confirmed the victim as Dwight Grant, which is Sigel's real name.

The second victim reportedly refused medical treatment on the scene, the cause or extent of the injury was not immediately available.

The shooting was reported at 9:25 this morning at 834 Spruce Ave. No information on additional victims or the shooter was immediately available.

Sigel is a Philadelphia native and a former protege of rap superstar Jay-Z. He has served time in prison on weapons charges and was acquitted of attempted murder charges. In 2006, he was shot during a robbery in Philadelphia.

It's unclear what Sigel was doing in Pleasantville Friday. He was released from federal prison in August and was expected to remain in a halfway house until Saturday.

"Sigel had just returned home from dropping his kids off at school when he came upon some sort of physical altercation near his house. The attorney said it appears Sigel was not the intended victim.
