Animal activism always seemed very strange to me. From my perspective it seems very arbitrary which animals are uplifted and which animals are eaten or used as guinea pigs. In one breath we will say the bears should be released from captivity and then we release them into zoos operated by capitalists. It just seems kind of silly.
It just seems like a transfer of resources from one low ranked person(a rural bear farmer or local trapper) to higher ranked person(ngo millionaires or lawyers) under the guise of charity. I really don't draw a difference between the refuge or the reserve from the zoo. The end result is that these animals still aren't released in the wild and they're still very much in the control of people monetizing them
