Preciate it man been praying on these things heavy, Have you ever come across anything outside the Bible relating to the Exodus story? The fact that the Bible teaches us look down on one of the all time great African civilizations as being evil/blasaphamers is fishy to me and further not having concrete proof of their existence inside of Egypt outside the Bible, Herodotus the father of modern day History and acknowledged as the first Historian and it’s because of him we know a lot about early civilizations but he never once mentioned the Hebrews, a people as mighty as they are said to be in the Bible should have had some early mentions by other civilizations outside their own texts
Bump
I don't really have anything to add that hasn't been said or that could add to or subtract from your faith. I've been going through something a bit similar although the denomination that I grew up in does not fall under evangelical fundamentalism, so my gripe isn't with the literal truth of the text or what's referred to in the Roman Catholic tradition as 'sola scriptura' but more of a doctrinal matter that could invalidate the necessity of Christ. Although I've been teetering on the verge of Agnosticism, I haven't exactly turned my back on religion, as I do believe that it has its place in society.
I did want to comment on the quote above. I think, as it relates to the Exodus story, if we're looking for some type of direct written evidence from other sources outside the Torah, there is a high probability that we will not find it due to how things were recorded by the Egyptians. However, I do believe there is enough anecdotal evidence that can support some of the basic claims of the story.
