First reported by U.S. Army W.T.F! Moments in a leaked document, an early testing of the new Army physical fitness test shows that a whopping 30% of male participants and 84% of female participants failed to meet the new standards.

The new PT test dubbed the ACFT (Army Combat Fitness Test) is not due to replace the current APFT (Army Physical Fitness Test) until 2020, but the Army has already begun doing test runs in order to educate and inform soldiers about the new standards and teach graders how to properly score their troops. The latest test run involved numerous Army units from the Infantry, military intelligence, military police, and sustainment units.

3,200 soldiers were tested including 2,849 men and 357 women. While these numbers produce statistically significant test results, it should also be noted that they represent a small fraction of the US Army which encompasses well over half a million uniformed men and women.

The ACFT consists of six events including the traditional 2-mile run and two minutes of pushups, but also includes a deadlift, a sprint and litter drag, power throw, and leg tuck. The leg tuck event was the most challenging event for those tested, resulting in the flunking out of 14% of male soldiers and 72% of female soldiers. The leg tuck tests grip, strength, and flexibility as soldiers dead hang from a pull-up bar and attempt to touch their knees to their elbows.

Regarding the leaked documentation of the PT test failures, an Army spokesperson claimed that the document and the statistics were not official as they had not been aggregated or released by the Center for Initial Military Training (CIMT).

U.S. Army W.T.F! Moments shot back writing, “the chart we showed you and according to CIMT “Is nOt aN OFfiCiAL DoCUmenT” was used to brief the Secretary of the Army and the CSA [Chief of Staff> so I guess it is unofficially official?”

I wonder how this is gonna shake out.

Believe it or not, across all the branches, people really aren’t they fit. I told myself doing PT isn’t harder than HS football

I feel what he’s saying though. By themselves they aren’t that bad, but that 2 mile run at the end will do you in.

Who's not surprised by this. All u have to do is take a look around at the avg person, which is who the armed forces primarily target. Although that test is some creampuff shyt.
