Being black and able to speak other languages appreciation thread.

Always seems to surprise people for some reason, even though the world is full of black people who speak other languages. I am pretty damn good at Spanish and Portuguese, though I'm not fluent I can communicate effectively and with good grammar and pronunciation.

My teachers have been flabbergasted by me over the years on some "b-b-but you're a ******, your only language should be ebonics" shyt. I'm just like "U mirin'?" :busta:

I took spanish in high school (always wanted to learn) so I can put together sentences and understand what's being said. I was working one day and this hispanic lady was complaining to her daughter that was I was taking too long and I should hurry up. I turned back and said I'm going as fast as I can, patience.

Its really amazing how a lot of people in the US don't speak another language. It opens up so many possibilities if you are a traveler.

German, I usually surprise everyone that speaks German because of my pronunciation plus I'm black and American so they don't really expect it. It's cool though, I love German, it's extremely simple for me

No, English is built from French and German, knowing English will help you learn French.
